Long ago, there was a kingdom protected by a great army. This army was often called the Army of the Sea. No one really knew why, since they had nothing to do with the sea, though some theorized that it might just be a poor translation of an older name.

This one army, consisting of some of the most skilled fighters in the world, protected the kingdom for hundreds of years, throughout generations. Legends were told about their ability to swiftly end any battle. Any attackers who wished to conquer the kingdom had to go through the army, though none ever succeeded. People within the kingdom predicted it would never fall, as the army was simply too strong.

While no outside attacker could over succeed at overpowering the Army of the Sea, another threat slowly arose, only noticed by a few.
